Hi, i am 5 weeks pregnant and am wondering whether i should apply for a new job?

I am a nurse and am currently working with an agency. The current workplace where i am doing a lot of shifts have a vacancy. but by the time the position starts i will only be there for 6 months before going on maternity leave. I have 2 jobs though and i know if i change my full time job i wont get maternity pay but i earn enough in my other job to be eligible for maternity pay. I don't know if i should go for the job. anf if i don't can you get maternity pay for 2 jobs? sorry if this doesn't make much sense.

Basically do i get maternity pay for 2 jobs and do i apply for another job only to tell them before/after interview i am pregnant and wont be there long if i got the job? I feel it to be more difficult because i know them well and i know they would then have to pay to cover my maternity pay. and they have another staff member going on maternity leave in June. and they can relocate me to another workplace at their discretion on my return which i wouldn't want them to do.

don't feel bad at all about your employer - do what is best for you and your baby and get as much money out of them as you can. At the end of the day you do a noble job, pay your taxes and employers wouldn't give as much consideration to you! Do what will give you the best long term package and when your little one comes along you'll thank your lucky stars. Congrats on your baby!

7 years ago i got a new job and knew i was pregnant, only in the early stages like you.
I didn't tell the employer as i thought they may not want me.
I tried to hide it for as long as possible but unfortunately i showed very quickly and didn't have a choice in telling them.
They were fine but because of all the work stress i nearly lost my baby at 17 weeks and had to leave my job on sickness grounds, they still payed me for a certain amount of time then i went on early maternity leave.
I don't know if you can claim mat pay for 2 jobs, i don't think you can
