Tips for a job interview?

It's my first REAL job interview, career-wise..

i really want this to go well -

any advice?

it's for a nurse-internship w/a local hospital

Read about the job and know about the hosptial
Practice different interview questions, practice makes better
Dress Professionally, not too much cologne and make up and sit properly
Bring additional copies of your resume and cover letter with you
Greet the interviewer and shakes hands. Be polite at all times, "yes sir", "no mam" and talk with energy confidence, energy, pride and honesty in your voice and most importantly be yourself
Be a good listener and maintain eye contact and smile
When you answer behavioral related questions remember S.T.A.R Situation, tasks, action and results
Don't forget to ask them questions, asking questions lets them know that you are really intrested in the job.
Don't leave with out knowing the next step
After the interview send them a thank you note.

I hope that helps you and good luck!

Do a little research. Talk to other nurses, interns at the hospital. Find out something about what they do. If they have any challenges, problems. other helpful hints. Dress for the job. Stay away from the stinky stuff, perfumes, hair spray. Lose the nose ring, (jk). Treat your interviewer with respect, "yes sir, no ma'am" Lots of luck.

Here's a few tips: find out all you can about the hospital before your interview so you are informed, smile, be confident, prepare your own questions to ask, and even try to let the interviewer do more of the talking. Also, just realize that you are interviewing them as much as they are interviewing you.

1. Research the company.
By knowing as much as possible about the organization you're interviewing with, you'll be able to speak about topics that are relevant to the job you're applying for.
2. Learn about your interviewer.
If you can learn a little about the person who will be interviewing you, you'll be miles ahead of the game. Try to research up one or two things about her accomplishments, history with the organization, outside interests.anything that will help you break the ice and speak to her about things she's interested in.
3. List the questions you want to ask.
The employer shouldn鈥檛 be the only one asking questions during the interview. After all, you鈥檙e trying to decide where you want to spend eight or more hours a day for the next few years. Be prepared with your own questions, which should:

* Gather information you need to make your career decision
* Show that you understand the basics of the job you seek
* Demonstrate your level of commitment, interest, and abilitie
