University or a job?

im going into my second year at college and when im finished i can go to university to qualify as a nurse. wot do u think i shud do go to uni or get a different job?

please help thanks!

Tough decision. Ive just finished college after doing 3 years and have been accepted to go to uni but ive made the choice to wait a year and go into permanent work. It took a while for me to decide but ive deffered my entry to next year if all fails.

Unfortunattley, this has to be your decision.

Hope you make the best choice.

Good luck either way.

This depends on what your interests are. Most students change their majors several times before they graduate from college. My feeling is that if you have made reasonably decent grades in college, and there is no real financial problem, you should continue at the university.

I am a retired college registrar and have seen many people return to college a decade or two or three later to finish a degree. But by that time they usually have families and it is much more difficult to finish college.

I am wondering if you mean that you already has an A.S. in Nursing and are undecided whether you should complete a B.S. You can get a good job with an associate degree in Nursing but hospitals usually require a B.S. for promotion to the better jobs.

s

we need nurses but if you want my honest opinon the police, medicine, army and teachers is not the place to be at the moment! You end up having to do 7 years untill you are a truly qualified nurse now thats as long as a doctor but if its where you passion lies go for it...I advise you look into simular careers

Follow this simple relationship:

The higher the qualification you have, the higher the salary you can expect to eventually earn.

Before I started Uni I thought I knew what I wanted in life, and what I wanted from a career. I started Uni last september and I can say without a doubt I am glad that I came.

I have grown, physically, mentally and emotionally; I have gained experience and had fun and most of all I have gained valuable knowledge and experience that will last my whole life through.

Do I still want what I thought I wanted before uni?

I can answer that question and outright it is a categorical NO!

Spenidng one month on my Degree course openned my eyes wildly and threw up new ideas and options for me, and made the old ones seem like wasted efforts.

I would say consider University it will help you greatly, it will either open your eyes to the world and show you that there are greater things than you want or it will focus your attention on your passion and will confirm to you that the career you think you want is the one that is right for you.

Plus a degree looks good on a CV but saying that as an answer s purely superficial and it is not always necessarily true!

Unless you learn to write properly, forget University. You have to pass essays there. Also, if you have to ask that question then again, forget Uni.

you must not be sure if it is right for you, so why don't you speak to the career people and they will give you a more informed idea of what is involved in the course and with all the info at your fingertips you can go forward confident its right for you.

do what you feel. you could always take a gap year before going to uni to see whether or not work is for you or whether you'd prefer to carry on at uni. but this is your future and only you can decide what is best for you.

well im a student nurse and have a part time weekend job so why dont you do both!
