I finished all the pre reqs for nursing, but I dont want to be a nurse. What should I do now?

I am interested in medicine and science, but I dont know what I want specifically for a job. I want to do some kind of two year program, that will use all the pre reqs I have completed but I dont want to be a nurse, or xray tech. What else can I do? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Graduate with your bachelor's and then get a masters (2 years) in some medical science field like neuroscience, physiology, or molecular biology, and go work in a lab as a research associate running someone's (someone with a PhD or a company) experiments. I know a lot of research associates that work for pharmaceutical companies developing drugs and such. Or you can work in a university setting. You can ALSO work as a research associate with just a bachelors but you might get paid a little less.

radiology perhaps?
medical assistant?
pharmacy tech?

just thought of another thing.. if you DO continue with nursing you can get your Master's and become a Nurse Practitioner (doing the 'nursing' part plus prescribing meds to pt's).

Dietitian, Pharmacist,

wow, once you got the medical terminology down you can pretty much do anything or train for anything. I am going to school for billing and coding. But really the options are endless. Sit down with a school counselor and try to decide what would excite you and make you want to come to work. If you find that then you will have a happy successful life. Good luck

radiographist,pharmacist assistant,lab technician etc.

Med Tech?

As a former college student myself. I would advise you to go see your college counselor to make sure everything in your records are in order and go with the directions that counselor gives you. A lot of times it will save you lost time from making the worng decisions by using the word of mouth from other students.

Thanks for this comment .
this is one of the most problems in the world .
and some time is coused by our perents . When there a docters they think all there chirldren must be docters .
So for you beind finishing all the pre req for nursing , yes , your a full nurnsing officer bat you will not work when your happy and its time you look for anything you fill you can do now.
other wise your giong to deal with mans life and which you dont have intrest in it so you will not work as your requared to work .
this will lead problems to you and your life to.

Apply to Physical Therapy school and get your D.P.T. (Doctorate of Physical Therapy)! The job is mentally/emotionally rewarding, the pay is good, and the program is only about 3 years.
The job market for PTs is one of the top three jobs expected to increase the most in the next 15 years. You will always have a job, which is a very nice feeling.
