Nurses, how often do you use chemistry knowledge in your job?

Nurses, how often do you use chemistry knowledge in your job?

It depends on your area of practice. I'm using it a whole lot now because I am in school to be a nurse anesthetist. There's a lot of advanced pharmacology, physiology and biology that centers around chemistry principles. For example, IV fluids and if they are isotonic, hypertonic or hypotonic and how that will effect my patients. Don't freak out about it or let it deter your pursuit of nursing. I hated chemistry so much in college and didn't do so well, but seeing it in this context now, somewhere that I can apply it and understand it, it's a lot easier and kind of cool.

not very often. the most commin reason is to make sure medicines dont interact
