Job titles at a hospital (people who work there)???? answer?

i know that surgeons...nurses, psychologists anaestheseologists and blood takers work there..but what other jobs are there in the hospital? ive always wanted to be a clinical psychologist...but i want a job and a career that will revolve around me staying and working at the hospital ALL THE TIMEE....please help.

There are some large Psychiatric Treatment Centers (Hospitals) which have clinical psychologist on staff full time, especially if they have areas of specialization in addiction and rehabilitation.

Nurses work full time at the hospitals, and while some anesthesiologist work for the major hospitals, most belong to private practice anesthesia groups which have privleges at one or more hospitals and perform anesthesia services there.

Surgeons perform surgery at hospitals, but a large part of their time must be spent at their private offices seeing patients prior to and following the surgical procedures..

Most physicians are only at the hospital a small portion of the day, and spend the greatest portion of their day seeing patients in ambulatory settings which they then admit to hospitals when required.

The physicians which are exceptions to this, are pathologist who work in the laboratories and pathology labs, radiologist who are part of the hospital's radiology department, emergency room physicians, neonatologist, intensivist, and hospitalist.

There are pharmacist who work in the hospital pharmacies, but by far there are many more pharmacist in the retail settings.

There are many people who work in the positions called the health care service occupations, such as surgical technologist, respiratory therapist, radiology technicians, LPNs, CNAs, Phlebotomist, etc all who work in hospitals full time, but may also find employment in the public sector.

The key is to find a career that you are interested in, and then to find a position which meets your career goals.

Typically psychiatrists have a private practice and have privileges at the hospital. They do rounds there each day, but do not spend all their time there. I don't believe psychologists work at hospitals at all.

Other medical jobs at the hospital include; respiratory therapist, radiology tech, nuclear med tech, surgical tech.

Specialty hospitals may employ psychologists full time on staff. When I was at Childrens Hospital LA we had fulltime child psychologists to help the children deal with severe illness etc (one is now a famous author--Dr Kellerman); other hospitals may as well, but general med surg hospitals usually do not. Since you are intersted in that field, also look at play therapists and recreational therapists & occupational therapy--they all work in hospitals.
