Airmen! What is your job in the airforce, and how do you like it?

My husband is a hydro mechanic on the kc 135...his job is okay....its very demanding, and the guys he works for are sort of jerks, but I want to join up also, and Im thinking health care career! I want to make sure that I will be based with him.....but, I want a stable job that isnt deploying every second..like nurses or something. Im thinking pharmacy or optometry?

Join the air force!

Pharmacy is a good job.

All the airmen will love you!

Country wants you.

I was in pararesue (Halo Warrior) I liked it except when I was shot and crippled. That was pretty much a bummer.

Pharmacy and Optometry are both great career fields, but they both still deploy. (and I recently just found this out, because a guy I work with was thinking of crosstraining into optometry, but when you deploy you are the person that is treating the serious eye injuries over there, i.e when someone has a stick in their eye you are the one performing SABC (self aid and buddy care). I dont know about you but thats not what I'd want to be doing. Health care is a great career but I dont know that they are in a high demand right now. Your best bet would be to find out what jobs are available at your husbands base (meaning what jobs can you get to be stationed there), and then talk to a recruiter and see if any of those jobs that can work there are open right now. Good luck.

Sounds like a plan ok. Best to go in with some rank. But, it is never a good idea to join during a War. Also, medical types can find themselves in Iraq or Afgan before they know what hit them.
Believe me, war screw's people up. And war is terrible on life saviors like Medics. Lots of blood and guts and death. You do not want to suffer through it.
It will ruin your future or at least damage it. And Iraq or Afganistan could also end it!
