Still having trouble finding a job.? |
I quit work 2 years ago to be a stay at home mom. Now I can't seem to find a job anywhere!!!! My last supervisor and I had some personal differences. I worked there for 4 years (almost) and she was one of 3 or 4 different supervisors (D.O.N.'s) that was hired during the time I was there. I had difficulty with her because she would have us do things like deny someone to go to the bathroom just because they were on a timing scedule to retrain their bladders. I understand and agree with the purpose of that, but it is against a patient's rights to deny them if they insist. She was very unprofessional at times and flighty in personality. (unstable) Our last occurance was about 2 days before my two weeks resignation time was up. She brought in a man with altzeimers (sp?) to our nursing home. We didn't have an altzeihmers unit. He became very disoriented and combative towards the staff and other residents (patients). He ended up hurting himself, some other residents and the staff. We were short staffed, as usual. Two of the three staff we had were ill. This man required one on one interaction to keep him occupied. We tried calling in every staff member and family member to help. No one would. I said call Kathy (supervisor). No one wanted to because she would be mad. I called her and she said she was waiting for a ride to go out with friends that night. When she hung up I started to call the administrator but in that short of time Kathy showed up with wet hair like she's just gotten out of the shower. She was fit to be tied and waited untill she could get me alone to rip me a new one. Later she was asked by the facility to resign and take a lower position. Now she works in the facility where the lady who does the hiring works. To make it worse, that lady is related to my boyfriend's son's mother who also works in the same office! Like I said, it has been about two years since I have started looking for a job. How do I find out what is going on? I am trying to understand your question. You are trying to find work. Why do you want to know what is going on? Go to one of the other supervisors to get your information or referral. Apparently the facility were you were employed thought this supervisor was in the wrong or they would not have demoted her. I personally think that taking time off for being a stay at home mom is wonderful. I did that, then found a way to make a living around my family's schedule. You might want to think about that option instead of going back into the politics of your facility. I am a stay at home mom too! BUT I am able to get out on my own time and still be there when my kids and husband need me. I am with a company called AtHome America. It is a very rewarding "job". I get to help people change their lives for the better and I help people redecorate their homes for FREE or next to nothing. Check out my website and request more info if this interests you. Good Luck in your search! |
