How should I quit my job?

I am a nursing student straped for cash, and I always wanted to work in a hospital since that is where I will be after working after I graduate. So, I was looking around for ANYTHING that would pay. So... back in November I took a job doing home health care. I expressed during the hiring process that I need full-time, b/c I have bills, blah blah blah. Anyway.. I have been working part-time or less, and they call me a a moments notice and ask me to work, and there are ALWAYS schedule changes, etc. But lately they have ben giving me more hours little by little and I really like my clients, BUT I just got called for the second interview at a hospital job that will be paying more money and be full-time. So how should I quit? I feel bad because they have been slowly but surely giving me more hours, etc. But its kind of too little to late...

I know the standard is two weeks notice, but is okay to ask to start in two weeks if the hospital offers me the position?

Write a letter, thanking them for the experience you have gained while working for them.

If you are available to work during the next two weeks, tell them that or offer to work at certain times.

It does not need to be a long letter but must include the date of the last day you will be available. That date should be two weeks or more from the day you give them the letter

give them two weeks written notice. that's all you have to do.

Nail the one @ the horsepistol and tell the others that you're done. They'll understand--you told 'em what you wanted to begin with, so no surprises, huh? Life is good... It's better when your plan comes together.

First you should decide if you need to work or not. If you need to work, then line up the other job before quitting! If not, then hand in your 2 weeks' notice, complete your job well (in case you need their reference) and move on!

you dont have to give them a explantion, just give them a 2 weeks notice and if you like thank them for the opportunity and be nice bout it.

absolutely -that is common business courtesy to give your old job two weeks notice and the hospital will absolutely understand and respect that.
