Why does God hate me? I tried to do a good job each time and overall it got worse and worse..?

losing jobs, two bankrupcies, getting cancer, now over 50 and no one wants to hire me...I was a good worker (nurse) but employers can treat you underhandedly and fire you and say bad things to prevent you from getting another job...I am too young to get social security..now have huge student loans that scare the heck out of me...I thought I could go back to warehouse work or retail work since I don't like supervising people or stress of nursing..I try to tell people on here not to kill themselves..but now it is hard not to think about that..I know my cats need me, but I don't know how I can help either of us with no job...I tried not putting down about being fired, but I think that company is saying bad things about me and they only fired me after I insisted on having benefits and I had cancer in the past...I can't even manage to get temporary office or warehouse work. I seem to be shut out there even...some act like they are hiring you and then don't ever have any work...

The job is gone...I was fired for something else (in theory) but in reality because I insisted on fulltime with benefits and then they found out I was treated for cancer (but don't have it now).

With temporary agencies, one key is persistence. Keep calling back daily, and sign up with several different agencies. Call all your agencies daily. Also, consider what wage you are willing to accept, some agencies only have more of low paying work.

God doesnt hate anyone. Dont ever think that. yeah life is bad at the time, He works in weird ways. You never know, He could be helping you. God loves everyone, no matter what.

God does not hate you. He loves you. I am sorry that you are going through hard times. Hang in there. This too shall pass.

God doesnt hate you. hes giving you trials. apparently your blaming him for them, so your failing them. start trusting him again. no one said it was gonna be easy, but at least God will be with you thru it all

wow...I don't think God hates you, but it definitely sounds like you got it hard...my personal opinion is that you if you had realized how you are feeling now, when you decided to take your stand for benefits, then you wouldn't have insisted...after all, its better to have a job with no benefits than no job after all...I know nothing about nursing, but do you think it might be worth it to stick it out just for the income? it doesn't sound like God is the cause of ALL this misfortune....hope you can turn it around...because some of it is in your hands, still.

God doesn't hate you, but sometimes it's easy to feel that way, especially when everything around you is going to heck in a handbasket. I know, I've been there, at the bottom, with no hope before. Plus I'm a nurse as well. I can tell you one thing for sure; God will help you. It may not be in a way you expect or hope for, but it will be in the best way for you at this juncture of your life. We can't see what's ahead; it's scary. God can, though; and if you believe in Him your life is going to be guided by Him if you let it. "This too will pass". Nothing is permanent. Today's trials are tomorrows memories and learning experiences, however painful. It will change. It will pass. The best way to stand is down on your knees. Hang in there. God Bless.

get a job at a cancer facility, they understand and may help you on insurance

You may benefit by finding out what your previous employer is telling your potential new employers. Legally they can only verify the dates of employment, duties performed, and attendance information. A company cannot flat out say you are a bad person and slander you, thats illegal.

And no, God doesnt hate you. Im going throw similar woes right now. Im collecting unemployment with no possibility of going back to work (permanent layoff), have 3 young children, and bills up the butt. He works in mysterious ways, I keep reminding myself that things happen for a reason.

Check with your municipal and State agencies for assistance. You should be able to collect food stamps, medical assistance, and energy assistance for being in your position. Hang in there!

I had a friend who was a Christian who had just about the same kind of things going on in her life. She didnt think God hated her (not a judgement on you) she just said God wasnt answering her prayers.
It boiled down to a series of bad decisions on her part.-And you couldnt point out this or that to her b/c she made the decision not to ever consider good advice.
Bad decisions.

blaming him could make it worse.
he probably wants u to keep faith.

finally it all worked out.

keep faith

Sounds tough... it really does. Here is some tough advice but I hope you consider it: Stop complaining, get up shower, get dressed every day, and get out of your house before nine in the morning. You are surviving somehow... go do some volunteer work... maybe you find nursing too stressful, but go volunteer in a nursing home or homeless shelter. You have skills and a desire to work... don't keep it a secret that you are looking for a job either! spend a couple hours looking each day but in the meanwhile, my advice is four hours a day at the charity, or charities of your choice, five days a week...and here is the kicker, most volunteers at most charities get a free mean when they spend four hours there. And you will also become aware of other resources that are available to you. But most importantly...stop complaining, count your blessings, use your skills, and don't you dare even let suicide enter you mind, you are a healer and you are so caught up in your own drama that you have forgotten your gift. Practice your art wherever you can...as for student loans...deferment!
And stop blaming God or anybody else...blaming and complaining are probably what got you fired. Try not to say anything negative just during those four hours a day that you are serving others... they have their own problems that you can ease.

God doesn't hate you, that's the depression kicking in. I went through some of the same things you are going through now. The first thing I did was to memorize the 10 finger prayer my daughter taught me. " I Can Do All Things Through God Who Strengthens Me." The second thing I did was to join the Social Security Disability Coalition. It is a group for folks who for one reason or another have been disabled and are having problems getting the benefits they worked so hard for and deserve. They are a group on MSN the address is http://groups.msn.com/SocialSecurityDisa...

Reach out to them. There are many on there who have been through what you have and can help you decide on the best course of action.

Please, never give up. God Loves You and so do I!

Let me explain something to you. YOU BEAT CANCER! There is nothing this world can dish out that you cant take. I know what you are going through, I have been there. Feeling hopeless is the worst thing in the world. But I reminded myself that if I can beat a spinal cord injury, I can get a damn job! Look, you have nothing to lose. Starbucks will give you medical benefits for working 20 hours a week. It may not pay the rent, but at least it is income. I did it for a while. Anyway, forget this "god" nonsense. YOU BEAT CANCER! next time somebody puts you down or talks behind your back remind them that there is nothing they can do to scare you, because you aren't even afraid of Cancer. Cancer is afraid of YOU!

I agree with the other folks who have answered - God does not hate you - he loves you, always. I can sympathize w/you as I was fired from a job at age 60 & it can be daunting to find oneself unemployed at that age. Now, for some practical advice - your previous employer CANNOT give out "bad" information about you or they leave themselves open to being sued. In most states, all that an employer can say when called about a former employee is that yes you worked there and in some cases they can say whether you would be considered for rehire. On applications for reason for leaving job, put "terminated" not "fired". Do not offer any explanations on the application. If you get an interview and they ask you can explain then, BUT, DO NOT BAD MOUTH your pervious employer. You can say that you simply had a difference of opinion, or that you wanted & needed benefits & the employer chose to let you go.

If you have any sort of disability (you said you had had cancer) check with your state's local Vocational Rehabilitation Department - you may qualify for their services & they can help you find a job. Your local unemployment office may have an "older worker" program that is federally funded - check into that. Also if you were fired you should immediately qualify for unemployment benefits - apply for them if you haven't.

Go to your local Health & Human Services department & see if they can help in any way. (food stamps, rental assistance, utility assistance). Most cities of any size have food pantries - your local library should be able to help there.

Many churches have funds available for people who find themselves in your situation & are willing to help even if you are not a member. Check into it.

On your student loans, contact Direct Loans they can help you to refinance your school loans or to lower your payment. They work with the U S Dept of Education. The website is: www.dl.ed.gov/enroll - or call them at 1-800-848-0979. Your payments are income based, meaning if you have no income, you have no payment.

The best thing for you to do right now is to take some action in your behalf. Get mad if you have to as anger can empower you. It's possible you were fired because of your age. I strongly suspect that was what happened in my case plus I was a top wage employee.

Hang in there & seek some counseling through your church or your doctor - sounds like you need to know you aren't alone. I was hired 10 days after I was fired - so there is hope for you. Keep your chin up, my dear. You'll get through this, I promise. Hug your kitties, they are your best comfort.

Well, seem you're down! I hope your life is getting better.Don't think too much!! Everyone had the same problem.Sometime, gods let people down because, they want to prove something from you.Even me, I proved my self.My life before you know I had an accident with bike.I went to party with my boyfriend and then I was so drunk and I jumped of bike.I know you will think why I'm so stupid.I and my boyfriend we had quarrel mostly everyday. After I had an accident I can't walk for a month.I tired to walk but I can't ! After that my boy friend he have to go for meet customer and you know what! my boyfriend he had an accident with car.Oh my god ! I pray for him that want him to be safe.As the same time I have to paid for bill etc.We not have money at all.If we have not enought for pay.I was thinking why everything not what I"m thinking..I don't know what can I do but in April 25th 2007 I pray everyday til now for make me felt better.I forget to tell you someting I"m a buddist from Thailand.I believe in Buddha.I respect what I did.And you know what I won the lottery for 1 million baht.( 1,650 Dollar) Wow we're very happiness now. After we was have a problem. Now,we can pay for rent etc. So,I wish you have good life.Don't even think to kill your self.Ok? You still have your family .Try to do you best.Maybe something will be better soon.

i mean that's crazy to say God dosent hate u r u crzy believe me he does things for a reason u may have a bit of bad luck or something

I wish you good luck. You just need to keep with it. It definitely isn't easy to get a good job. You should research all your options. Can you apply your nursing to other fields but not as stressful like medical research assistant or doctor assistant or similar?

Well, you can send me an email if you have any job search questions or something.

First of all, I will ask you not to blame God for what has happened to you so far. Seek counsel if you must from experts regarding your problem.

Whether you agree or not, all of the things that happened to your life started from thoughts and became your choices. Then, it became your experiences.

I can sense from your words that your life revolves around negative perception of all facets of life. The world will change if you change your outlook. The world will become friendly if you become one. Good opportunities will come if you convince yourself that you have every right to have " the 2nd chance" in life, no matter what your age is. Do you remember that Col Sanders started his known food chain, KFC, when he was in his 70's. It is not too late for you to see life becoming rosy again. Start to think positive; tomorrow will come with better prospects in your career and life. Say you can get up again and start anew. Imagine yourself having the dream job and earning more than you can think or imagine. It all starts with your thinking. There is hope. And, may I ask you to try praying and think highly of God, too.

no matter what you should accept everything you got.Belive in yourself, don't care about other people say anything about you!Don't give up...Just let the time to solve it...

God Doesnt hate you, why would you say something so dumb? if you really believe that, then maybe you should re evaluated your world perspective.... it may be that youve been thrown to the ground, kicked and hit, helped up, and hit back down again, but there will always be a person doing better than you, and always a person doing worse, God wants to help you through it.
