Business attire for young nursing executive?

What clothing would you recommend for a 28 year old women that is considered yourng for the management position she has in a hospital's Nursing Services office? Something contemporay and modern, yet inexpensive. Something Business Casual, not as dressed up as dark suits. Want sto make a good impression in new job.

How about a beige suit? Not as high powered as a navy blue suit, but not as casual as different colors for jacket and skirt/slacks.

A colorful blouse too, that suggests you are still feminine and are not looking for something dull that a male would wear.
