I.m a nursing mum and i wanna work but my baby doesn't wanna drink in a bottle... please help... thanks!?

I have a 5mos. old nursing baby... I have a very low milk supply... I pity my child whenever he craves for more milk and get nothing from my breast... I tried giving him formulated milk by a dropper because I everytime I feed him through a bottle, he pushes the nipples by his tounge... I wanna work and find a job but in these kind of situation how can i leave the baby... please help me! thanks

Sounds like my daughter she is 5 months and 3 weeks and I am going through the same thing, I have tried every bottle you can think of. The Playtex ones seem to be the ones that work a little, not to mention I can push the bag in it and the milk squirts in her mouth. She has sucked on it a few times. I am being just as persistant as she is stubborn. Just keep trying and the baby will give. Also when you start food that will help. Figure out when you will be working and schedule spoon feeding around that and also remember this everyone keeps telling me this....When you are not around the baby wont smell your milk and will eventually take a bottle from your caregiver, husband ect. That is what I am hoping for. I will be returning to work next month so we will see...Just keep on being persistan and the best of luck to you, I know your frustration....

There is a pigeon brand baby bottle out that is sooo similar to a mothers boob. It is the best. I used it when trying to wean my kids off. It really works, but try to use breast milk at first and then switch to formula.

try different kinds of nipples and bottles.
when i went from breast to bottle with my last baby she couldnt get good suction from anything but a Playtex nipple.
Keep trying, he will get the hang of a bottle...
start out every time feeding time with a bottle, give him a few minutes on that, if he is getting it that is good.. if not then breast feed for awhile then end with the bottle again.
It takes time with some babies, just relax and work with him

There are supplements you can take to increase your supply. I believe it's call fenugreek (sp?) or mothers milk...I think that one is a a tea. Or talk to your doctor, they may be able to prescribe you something. I also agree with previous posters that suggest to keep trying with different nipples. Soothie bottles work for me, that is the paci that my daughter uses, so I think she is used to the feel.
Good luck!
