Nurses? How do you feel about your job? Would you choose to be a nurse if you could do it all over again?

I am debating on going back to school to become a nurse. I have family and friends who are R.N.s and I have heard good and bad things about the job. I am just trying to get different opinions. Thanks.

well I'm not nursing for the paycheck that's for sure. but yes i do enjoy my job. I'm in a very speciality area so that really makes a huge difference cause I'm doing exactly the type of nursing that i love. i have good days and bad days but i think you get that with any job. i have thought about quiting once or twice (on the really bad days) but i really couldn't imagine doing anything else. i really believe that nurses are born not "made". from the age of two i wanted to be a nurse. i spent my whole childhood trying to "fix" people's cuts and scratches...I've always been so drawn to nursing. all i can say is i find it a very worthwhile profession and if you can find your "niche" within the industry you will be set for life. good luck.

yes i love being a nurse and there is such a shortage of good nurses some are just there for the paycheck
