Job Dispute?

My mom was recently written up at work because another co-worker wrote a letter about a mistake that my mother made while on the job [they're both nurses in NH]. So, because of this letter, she was written up. By law, does my mother have a right to see this letter?

She was written up because of what was written on the letter, so yes, it brought the mistake to light. So what I'm asking is if she has a right to see this letter? Since, after all, it caused her to be written up.

By the way, to be written up means to be reprimanded in a formal, written document. Which, as you can imagine, is not a good thing for your career.

I believe Hippa & Confidetiality laws would prevent that from happening!

Was she written up because of the letter, or because of the error she made?

Maybe shew is just upset that the letter brought the error to light?

Anyway, how could we possibly know the work rules, (union or otherwise) at her place of employment, including what it means to "be written up"?
