I'm resigning to my dream job as a OB nurse because got bad review in my 3 month evaluation...?

boss said i have to improve documentation and learn to take md orders. to be faster and have more disposition.
on the other hand doctors speak good about my job and say i have a great personality. btw- my boss was on maternity leave and got back three weeks ago. she judge my job from info my co workers gave. im depresed.
my co workers know im upset but they dont give a darn
i was told this is a pattern that have been used with others too.
im giving the letter on monday and not staying two more weeks.
its humillating and stressful. i cried in front of my boss.
any comments welcome,thanks

If you feel you've been treated unfairly, you have two choices - stand up for yourself and tell your manager everything you have said here about the feedback you get from MDs, etc., or, find another place of employment that is less hostile. There ARE good employers out there who value their nurses no matter their age or experience level. Don't be afraid to job-hop to find the right fit for you, and absolutely do not give up on your dreams of being an OB nurse. You can do anything you set your mind to doing.

Good luck.

There is a high demand for nurses, so you should find something better with a better working environment. Just ask yourself what you learned from this experience and make sure you apply those lessons in your next job.

There is a saying that "nurses eat their own". Many nurses who have been at a job for a while are feel threatened when newer nurses join their unit. I'm not sure why, maybe they don't want anyone to out do them and possibly be a "better' nurse. Your co-workers are probably jealous of your rapport with the doctors and your good bedside manner. Maybe you should give it a few more weeks.

I've been a nurse for many years, i have been Thu several mangers, remember your focus ..... the patient, there are several other places with opportunity don't let one manager get you discouraged. there are plenty of good nurse managers. i hope the best for you. please don't give up

There is a high demand for nurses, so you'll find a job just fine. The only thing I would say is that if this is your first job out of nursing school, and this was your first evaluation ever, I would give it 6 months or even a year because of the steep learning curve you're on.
