How do you get a job in a military hospital?

how can i get a job as a nurse in a military hospital like walter reid do i have to be enlisted or what?

Best and easiest answer enlist as a 68W (practical health care specialist) in the US Army. However you can also get a great DOD job by just being a normal nurse going to nursing school etc and than going to usajobs.gov and looking for open jobs. You will get such better opportunities as travel, tuition assistance PA college program, housing money great pay, and all the benefits of normally being in the military. ............Shadow Stalker

First learn to spell and write properly, then proceed to the nearest Federal Government Agency to apply for a civilian job as a nurse with the government. There are plenty of civilian nurses working in military hospitals.

I was in the Navy for 8 years and worked at the Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Va for about 3 of them. Aside from actually being a medical officer, or enlisted medical technician, the best way would be contract work. I'm assuming that you are already a medical proffessional of some sort, but they do have jobs available for other sorts of work...i.e. accountants, engineers, and other such workers because Military Hospitals are usually more than just the actual hospital, they tend to take up an entire base and therefore, have to function on various levels, as it is though, the civillian tasks are doled out in two ways, one is Civil Service, and the other is through contract work. If you live near one, then you can talk to their human relations dept. and find out the company that they use to contract workers, usually they keep out an open list of positions they need filled. Good luck!!

im pretty sure, i know someone who work in balboa naval medical hospital and isnt enlist or no relations to the military. but you could probably find out by calling or logging on to that hospital.

it is a lot of paperwork just to get the job though. LOT.

Civilians can apply for employment right here....Below link
