What jobs can a pre-nursing student have at a hospital?

Im currently a pre-nursing student and Im searching for summer jobs at a hospital that is in line with Nursing. What are these jobs? I appreciate all the responses! Thanks a lot!

Porter, Secretarial work, cleaning, canteen, nurses helper (dont know their name)

You can work as a CNA (Certified Nursng Assistant) you can get your certification through that hospital. It's great patient care experience which will come in handy when you are an actual RN

Candy stripper aka aid angel, medical transporter, dietary aid, or work in housekeeping. WHy not take your CNA class and get a job as a nursing assistant?

nurse tech

Nurse assistant, patient care tech, emergency room tech, ward clerk, unit secretary, ekg technician, phlebotomist, and some hospitals have nurse extern positions specifically for nursing students. Go with a resume to the Human Resources department where you are looking and inquire about open positions or look online if they have a website.

I'm pre-nursing too, and I just took my EMT certification test today. In order to have a paying job at the hospital assisting nurses, you must have some kind of formal medical training. In those categories there are :EMT-Basic/Paramedic, Phelbotomist, Nursing Assistant, Monitor Tech, Patient Care Techician, Respitory Therapist, and more.

If your looking for a way to help nurses that doesn't require formal training, volunteer. That's what I do. I've volunteered for five years now, three of them in the ER. You'll get to see a lot of things that way.

If you need to get paid and can't take the time to train , I would suggest a transport job. It is on the job training level, has variable hours, you will get your CPR cert., Hep b shots, and you will see all of any hospital that you work in as well as build up an employment record with them. It is the kind of job with min. paperwork that lets you clock out and go home without a lot of "Did I get it all done" worries. The most important thing is that you will be very comfortable not only talking to the patients, you will be comfortable helping them, touching them, moving them, and observing them. I found it one of my most valuable jobs before I was a nurse because when the rest of my class was into feeling comfortable touching someone for assessment, i was WAY past that, and able to work on the more advanced lessons. Good luck.

you can apply as a CNA (Certified Nurses Assistant),EKG Tech,ED Technician, Med Aide(depending on how far in your program you are.), Unit Secretary,Transport Tech,Nurse Ex tern,CCT (Critical Care Tech).

You can register with your state to be a Nurse tech, they make more than CNA

you can become a cna in a nursing home or hospital or nursing homes and in home care @some HOME CARE AGENCY`S PAYING GOOD MONEY for Cna`s or you can go be a Private caregiver where you can make top money in in home care if you be a cna.with a Certified nurses Aid diploma.its easy to get .
