Do the public generally view nursing as a low skilled job? |
Do the public generally view nursing as a low skilled job? When nurses wore their crisp white uniforms, nurses cap and pin they got a lot more respect than they do now. I think most people realize nurses are highly trained, but sInce everyone in the hospital wears the "cute" scrubs with cartoon pictures, the patients can't tell the nurses from the cleaning crew. no Its a best job women can do! go for it. no No, not where I'm from. It's a very demanding job and respected. Unfortunately, wrongly.... YES. No, I think it's a great job definitely not low skilled..... my cousin is a nurse!..... I don't. I know that in Ontario, it currently takes 4 years of a collaborative College/ University program to be a nurse. After graduation, they must write an exam before getting hired. Strippers think pretty highly of it. They're all studying it when they're not shakin' their money-makers. No no generally not, nurses need a college degree of some sort so while it is a service profession it is a skilled service profession. The only aspect of nursing that may be considered a low skilled job is Certified Nurses aide. Even though they are required to complete a training course, a lot of people consider this type of job low skilled. (Its not though) Some may, but it certainly isn't and if anyone tried it they would I don't know about other people, but I personally don't think it's low skilled at all. I think it is a great job, that you help other people to get better. My mother was a dental nurse, my grand mother was a nurse in a hospital and schools, and her sister was a nurse too. I respect them for what they have done while they were working. They had to study a lot, and train a lot, so they could help patients. no... it takes education to be a nurse.....and nurses get paied well ! =) Nursing is and has always been considered a skilled ,professional occupation. There are a lot less nurses now because of low pay long hours and a lack of funding for scholarships Low skilled? No. Low paid? Yes. You angels deserve more! of course not, emtying bed pans is a highly skilled job. Definately NOT. Not @ all but there is less repect today toward's nurses. i think nursing is a very important job god love the nurses |
