I do nursing as a job but im thinking about giving it up what do you think i should do?

Look at why you are thinking of giving it up. If it`s the hours you are working, but enjoy the work, try going on the books of an agency, more money for less hours, although you may have to travel to different hospitals/ clinics, or as one contributor has suggested try another job at the hospital, maybe clerical.
Should you fancy a complete change look at what you enjoy doing or would like to do.
My wife worked in the NHS, she left and went into catering, working for herself.

There are so many different fields in nursing, why don't you try a different field and see if you like it?

I have worked in a hospital in Oregon,now retired. A nurse is a good job good money. Also you are helping people to have better and happier lives. Stay with it.

From a purely selfish point of view, I think you should stick with it as long as possible. We need all the nurses we can get. However, it is a very demanding, underpaid and undervalued occupation. Why not carry on for now, while you examine the alternatives and keep an income in the meantime. What about jobs in private hospitals? They may pay better and the working enviroment may be more pleasant.

If you think you want to leave nursing..maybe you're not happy doing it anymore. Maybe you need a complete change. I was in nursing and really loved it but after 25 years it totally burned me out. I left and although I miss it..my health had to come first. Good Luck in whatever you decide to do.
