My bf is a canadian citizen and wants to file a divorce (finally). how much will it cost him and how long?

he thinks it will be contested because his wife is after his pension. they don't have any children. the already sold their house. how long will it take to file and processed it? will it take ages? how much (estimate) will it cost him?they are separated for more than a year now.are there any documents needed to prove it or how can he prove that they have been separated since then? can he sponsor me to go there even he's not divorced yet? im working here in england as a nurse

But, regardless, whatever laws canada have to divorce, he should seek. I know in US it's $250 to file the paperwork, but after that, it's al LEGALITIES... Also, in US, if you've been physically separated for 18months+, then you can file for divorce, but there's always fees. Call the Family Division of your area.

I'm unsure about the divorce information, but I know he can only sponsor you if you're married, or can prove that you intend to have a future together (ie: joint bank accounts, living together for a year, etc.) since you're not family by blood. He'd probably have to file the divorce papers before he can do this, though.
