Any Doctors or Nurses out ther to offer advise?

Ok...I don't have regular periods, so my question is. We are trying to have a baby, how many days after sex should I wait before I can find out if I am pregnant? It's hard to go off of so many days after my missed period. Cause sometimes I go a couple months with out a period. So anyone know how long it takes for the hole conception process to happen?

It only takes an instant to concieve, it happens pretty darn quick...just as long as it takes for a sperm to swim form your vagina, through your cervix, into your uterus and dig itself into the egg. That's it. I always had an irregular period too, it is going to take some creativity to figure it out. You can get an ovulation kit at your local pharmacy (like Walgreens or CVS) they are right next to the pregnancy tests...it uses your basal temperature to tell when you are going to ovulate, then you have sex when it says you will be ovulating and wait about 3 weeks after you have sex to take a test - I know, it's not easy. You should see a doctor about your irregular periods. There may be an underlying cause.

i was on depo provera for 3 years then off of it for 3 years i didn't have a period after i got off of it, i'm expecting my daughter in the next month, i didn't think i could get pregnant witout a period, my doc said just b/c i didn't shed the lining in my uterus doesn't mean that my overies didn't release the egg. you should try using one of those ovulation predictors, it's like a preg test but it tracks when your body is ovulating so that you can try to get pregnant, don't get discouraged it will happen when its meant to happen
