Can anyone tell me my rights?

i see a few mental health nurses, therapists, with the nhs and i think they make me worse and treat me like there is actually something wrong with me bad (I only have anxiety for god sake). I would like to know the process of leaving and if possible?? I have a feeling if I don't contact them again the police will be involved!!

ps i went to my gp on own accord few years ago, refered to psychiatrist who diagnose me and then rgn nurses.

If you are not there by a Court Order you can walk any time you wish, but they can apply for an order to have you committed

If you are not court ordered, you have the right to refuse treatment, unless you are a danger to yourself or others.

ALL TREATMENT SORCES HAVE TO GIVE YOU A COPY OF YOUR RITES THIS IS THE LAW ALL OVER THE USA

If you were not sectioned you have the right to refuse treatment. Look up the Mental Health Act on google. Good luck.

You may have difficulty with some of the answers you are getting on here as most of the answerers are USA located but I can tell by the way you've worded your question and a few of the abbreviations that you are in fact saying hello from the UK!!
The NHS (National Health Service) and the fact you were polite was a good indicator, and process of leaving.

Does the NHS have a toll free information line like a +44 0800 number you could call and ask how the UK's Mental Health Act works? Failing that you may have to ask your GP and ask him to give you a letter of release if you were court ordered to see them.
Best of luck.

You have the right to remain silent.
You have the right to an attorney.

Ok, i know this wont be easy to read, but are you sure that they are wrong? Sometimes its impossible to see your own problems clearly, it is often easier for someone to see what is going on dispassionately from the outside..
I truly hope that the nurses are over-reacting but why not discuss your concerns with your GP, if he agrees with you that these problems are not as the nurses suspect, then your GP can get them to re-evaluate your situation and amend any treatment you get..
Please DON'T just not contact them, the Police WILL be contacted to ensure that you are not in danger, this would cause a lot of issues for you and can you really be bothered with the hassle? Best to get your GP on side and let the nurses know how you are reacting to the treatment....
I hope this helps...
