Weaning when baby does not do well with bottle or sippy...?

Felicity is 10.5 mos old and I nurse 4x a day (morn, before both naps, bedtime). She has 2 naps (2 hrs a piece) and nighttime (12 hrs) & goes down awake. She eats 3 solid meals (babyfood/finger foods).

I am starting the weaning process for her 2nd feeding of the day but she doesn't take a sippy well and not a bottle at all. I can help her drink maybe 1-1.5 oz at a time giving it to her regular cup style. So, what I'm thinking of just decreasing my nursing time minute by minute until it's gone...at this point she nurses about 5-6 min on 1 side and 3-4 on the other. So it would be 5-7 days weaning 1 nursing.

I am trying to figure out how to make sure she gets the appropriate amount of dairy in her diet and need some suggestions. She loves yo-baby yogurt and eats 3-4 oz a day at the most. she'll take a few oz of milk/formula a day and that will hopefully increase...but probably kind of slowly. THOUGHTS?????

>>>I am only planning to wean the 2 day feedings and keep the morning and bedtime feed until she's 1, so I am not weaning 100%. I am just looking for ways to incorporate more dairy in her diet since, in my opinion, it is time to start the weaning process for me and my daughter.

It sounds like a pretty aggressive weaning schedule that she's not quite ready for. Have you thought about backing off a bit and seeing if she's more comfortable with a cup in a few weeks?

F is doing well-I don't think it is too agrsv-I wnt to be dwn to nursing 1x a day by her bday-PED supports. Wning 3 fdings in 6 wks is SLOW. I was looking for sm thots on milk altern that r helpful during this process as some babies r hesitant to take milk from a new source. Report It
