I am interested in military nursing. However, I do not want to be separated from my husband and children.?

Does anyone know about the recruiting process? What are some things that I can expect? Are you given a choice where you are stationed? Is that choice likely to be honored? Is it an experience that is worth it?

They will tell you absolutely anything to get you to enlist and then ignore everything they've said. You are sent where they need you and you have no choice in the matter. They need and want nurses, and you'll very likely end up over seas, probably in the war zone

This is a good question, one I have wondered about myself. I know that in the military people are often deployed and away from their families, but there are also occassions where families live on base, so I don't understand how that works, if my family could travel with me or if I would be forced to leave them. Hopefully someone will give us a good answer! :)

I am a nurse as a civilian I work for the Veteran Affairs Medical Center. I also nurses who work on bases that are civilians. Go to USAJOBS.com. That way you will be able to help those that serve as well as be there for your family.
