If you have a texas LVN nursing license, can you use that in Iowa?

I got my LVN license in Texas but I'm moving to Iowa. Can I use my license there or is there some kind of renewal process or retesting that I have to go through. Thanks.

Yes, you can. Texas and Iowa are both members of the NCSBN Nursing Compact, which means that if you're registered in Texas, you are also registered in Iowa. See links below. Go through the license center and verification steps on the Iowa page.

Usually have to reapply in what ever state you are going to work in. Certain states accept other states without any problem and some require a test. Sorry don't know which ones do which.

No you need to be registered in Iowa

Only if Iowa is among the list of compact states. Check and see if there is a website for Iowa Board of Nursing. That should give you all the answers you need
