I ask one thing and one thing only? |
that those of you that take the time to respond do so HONESTLY.......not theoritically. Here goes to those of you who work in the medical field, nurses, doctors and to those of you who work in the mortuary field, how do you do these professions. Dealing with death all the time, doesnt it terrify you seeing people dead, knowing REALLY knowing that you will die one day. DOESNT IT TERRIFY YOU. I know most of you will say that you arent terrified because you are trying to kid yourself that you will never actually die. Well, I was a vonenteer firefighter and we had to use the jaws of life to pull dead and horribly injured people from burning vehicles fairly often. I know you asked for doctors, but this is also a part of that job as well so I felt I could answer it. The way I see it, someone has to do these jobs, some of them pay well and the people that you can save are make it all well worth it. I dont think people who do these jobs do them to trick themselves, rather they do them to ease the pain of thoes they can help. It takes a kind and loving indevidual to truly be a good doctor. I have always though of this I will pay attention to this question. I worked as a nurse for two years in a doctors office. I had one lady die in the office and it was a very difficult thing. I stopped being a nurse and decided to do something different. Now, my sister works in a funeral home and embalms the bodies all kinds old, young, babies etc. She seems to handle it very well now. I guess it just depends if you can find a way to deal with it in your mind. No one can really help you with this you have to find your own way to cope. |
