Do you think a Doctor, Nurse or similar has a change of view in Religion once they start that proffesion?

Does the medical profession basically make more Dr's and such more agnostic or Atheist than Religious or is it the other way around? i am curious, esp from others in the medical field what they think. Again there are no wrong answers and I never thumb down unless you are rude and cruel.

Interesting question, buddy. Many co-workers, who are nurses, are quite religious, said wouldn't know how they'd get through another day. On the otherhand, the doctors I work with, can go either way. Some will declare experience has brought them to know God, others are devout scientists. But there are the surgeons that have that "god" complex, where they believe they hold life in their hands, and their hands only. Gosh, good question, let's do a countrywide poll!

Some more some less some stay the same - in my experience. Nursing not medical. I think it just people and how we are.

I am a nurses aid and my views have changed but not because of my profession. I believe that our soul chooses our bodies before we even come into "existence." I believe that we go through good and bad times in order to gain experience. I believe Jesus had millions of lives before he became "perfect." He had to use his previous lives to build up to where he finally had complete understanding of everything.

Speaking from personal experience...No. I have seen too much that cannot be medically explained.

I don't think the profession in which one is employed has any direct bearing on one's level of Spirituality.

i'm a nurse and i've been around medical professionals for quite some time now. i guess it takes an effect to both. it might show an agnostic person that there might be some one higher than himself because he might have done all he could do and thinks the patient is going to do, but the patient makes it after all logic says they should be dead. could go the opposite way and make a religious person fall away after an "innocent" person, like a child, dies and it seems unfair to them that God would let that happen and then they turn away from Him. and then it might stregnthen your faith or lack there of, too. personally, for me it has strengthened my faith in a Higher Power. i saw a diagram of the ear, where the tiniest bones on the human body are located............. to me, it's daft to think that some single cell organisms got together one day and decided to create something to intracate like the the eardrum with everything else that's responisble for hearing. there had to be something to create it. however that's my view of it.
