OK Tell the truth , and share your story about your in counter with this.?

And why is it now a days there are no nice Nurses , who have any patients for those who are scared and in pain , they just think you are there for there Drugs , even though you have A VERY SERIOUS ILLNESS. And why are Doctors so mean too. I have not yet meet any nice nurses anymore or Doctors. and trust me I have been through there a lot because of my disease. I Would have to say the nicest Nurse I have ever met or do meet are the male Nurses. Why are they like this . Why did they take this professions if they cant Handel the sick and the scared people. WHY also Tell me A story of when you came in contact with A mean nurse Or Doctor Please I would Like to know , That I'm Not alone.... PLEASE
.

Not that I want to defend mean doctors and nurses, but I've come to understand some of the attitude. Often we've gotten Drs who seem to be cold and have no personality. But the truth is after seeing them for a good period of time you'll find that a lot of what they're doing is listening so intently so they can process the enormous amount of info to try to help treat you ... and most times they have to read between the lines because most people lie. A Dr says do you drink, person answers on occassion I have a few - actual answer should be many nights I have 6 pack and a couple of shots. To people they don't want to be honest about what's going on but they want the dr to fix them as if the things they hide don't mean much.

But you're right there are some out there who just don't seem like they chose the right field of work. I try to not judge on the first few visits ... If I remain nice long enough and try to lighten their day usually they'll come around and know you're not going to give them a problem and you're friendliness just might be a warm spot in a hectic day. Remember the nurse works for a Dr who usually demands perfection because any mistakes can cause further damage and every one is intent on sueing for every little reason ... costs go up, doctors need to translate patient white lies, nurses need to answer to the perfect Dr ... it's really not that easy, but sometimes you have to say to them I'm sorry you must be having a bad day because you're making me feel worse ...

good luck finding some good Drs and nurses ... wish I could pass on the names of some of mine (I dread the day some retire or move)

Didn't you post this same question (or should I say 'set of questions')?

gimme a sec to write it all! =D

Why no nice nurses? it is where you are going.. mine are usually nice and when they try being mean i walk out and say to come get me after they swallow their happy pills. lol they get mad but they get better =P.

i am always scared of shots. im not scared anymore.. i faced my fear but i was mean while doing it. lol.

usually they dont like when people are scared because they see like 7 year olds that arent scared of anything and 50 yr olds come in scared to death.. im sure its alot to go through. but if you show them you appreciate them they turn to grinch's to very very nice peopl very very quickly :D

* When i was like 8 years old i needed a shot and i was sitting down right after they took me height and weight and she came over and acted all nice and stabbed me in the arm with a "pen" it was a study.. i was so mad. i started screaming at her. and my dad didn't believe me that they put a shot in my arm that they were writing with. they told me that it was a study and it wasnt a pen.. it was a pen/shot. hard to explain.

* just last year, i was in the doctors office getting my flu shot that i was scared to death of and the nurse made my little brother cry [ and im really protective over family ] so when she went to put it in i was like no. its my turn. and she was like ok and when she put it in i was like " i hate you b****! " haha my dad started laughing. then i told her if she didn't do it better to my little brother id report her because i didn't sign for my shot. lol. i know im mean :D. im only 14 btw. so im sure if you are older than that and they are giving you problems before you go in say to the nurse that if she gives you any problems with her additude your calling the manager or whatever it would be for the nurse people. it will work.. nobody wants to be fired for that.

Merry Christmas!

Yeah... I noticed this as well...

The nurses and doctor neglected my grandfather who was in ICU and when my family finally managed to get to the hospital (had to travel from WY to FL) he was completely dehydrated and getting worse!!

I think there are so many mean ones because the nice ones have trouble getting through the tough nursing programs.

I will share a story with you.

My wife had multiple problems with her doctor, she lost her license and was being sued fpr malpractice, all the while she is perscribing medicine like it is candy.
So after 3 years of this her Dr. leaves the state. Her assistant takes over and cuts off all the medicine my wife was taking.

We are talking methadone, oxycontin, fentinyl, muscle relaxers. 15 meds in all.
Now my wife almost dies from it, all the while the nurses are saying she is imagining it(the pain).
well we find out she has ruptured wfroma surgery almost 14 months ago.
Every time she coughed she would say she feels like she is tearing inside.
So I have seen the worst treament I could have imagined, all the time she was beinbg treated she was treated like an addict.
My wife never touched a single drup b efore this event.

So I have ZEROI faith in doctors or most nurses.

I have met a few that are guenuinely concerned but they are few and far between.

Always get a secong or third opinion as this would have avoided most of the trouble we have gone thru.

I had the worst experience with the nurse as i lost my mom because of their negligence.

there is still nurses who treat their career as a vocation...its just they are under stress...work stress cos nurses has so many things to do not only attending patients and also working with the doctors and the management pressures....continuing education, exams and so on.

to make a long story short, yeah

I have yet to have met a mean nurse. All the nurses I have had (only had a tonsilectomy and 4 c-sections) have been very giving and helpful, even when they had been on shift forever.

Well, I take that back...there was this one nurse when I had my last baby that was just plain rude to my fiance's family. I had my daughter this past May and they wanted to look at her feet and etc. The nurse barged into room with my medicine and noticed they had her unwrapped and proceeded to act lke the baby was theirs and told them to cover her back up or send her to the nursery. This was after the night before she woke me up in the middle of the night and asked me how long it had been since my daughter had eaten. After struggling to look at the clock, I told her 3 hours. She started yelling and telling me I needed to get up and feed her *a sleeping baby mind you* or send her to the nursery. She was evil. But at least that was my only experience with her.
