Are you worried about getting old? Do you hope for?

any sort of respect or care? Think again! Our resident mental health care nurse loves referring to people as having a'screw loose', or anyone who makes a list as 'senile'. How many of you are making lists at the moment with Christmas coming up? Are you senile?
We have all read in the papers pretty scary accounts of what happens to the elderly and sick in hospitals and care homes. Would this woman like to justify her 'caring' profession' as against her views on Yahoo Answers? I am not naming her but here is a clue, she has had a go at an ex friend, who I assume is the one that has a screw loose and who is senile.

Katie: We Brits have a lot to be ashamed of in the way we disrespect our elderly, it stands to reason that as they have lived longer and experienced more, many of them know so much more than younger folk. The lack of respect is chilling. Did you see that elderly lady who contributes on here Rosie was abused with sick sexual fantasies and taunts to the jeer of a bunch of cruel ghouls? It was chilling to see that so many could be abusive to an elderly lady. I am fortunate enough to be in a position that I would be able to choose where I received care if I were in that position, but for many it is a frightening future that we need to address

Presume this has all to do with someone on here who has not been nice? Afraid I am not really sure about the question as I have simply no knowledge. I am really answering Misterma and I apologise on your answers but he seems to have no empathy and really immature. What I would like to say to him is that one thing you cannot stop is TIME and unless somethng unforseen happens he will be the ages he refers to himself and shouldn't make fun of others not knowing what lies ahead for him!!!

im not completely sure what the question is, but if you're asking what you said in the headline thing for this question, then yes, i do worry about getting old, b/c social security and nursing homes are so screwed up already, what will they be like in another 10 years? i would hope for good quality nursing home care if i must be in one when im old, and good social security benefits or whatever, but i dont know if that will happen.

Never knock the NHS. They saved my life 3 times. My message to misterma is " It will happen to you if you are lucky" Like, my friend abenezer, am 75 and still going strong and can and will continue to answer any question that either interests me or annoys me

Why do people put their parents in a old folks home? Our parents took care of us when we were sick. Feed us when we couldn't feed ourselves. Well. Now they depend on us. Anyone who dumps their mother or father in a old folks home is a no good pig. Thank You.

It's Andy H's son Andrew here. Dad asked me to e mailyou. I'm sorry its taken so long. He's been in intensive care for nearly three weeks, he's had an operation to remove tumours from his stomach and bladder. He's not well at all but I think you've worked out he's a stubborn old sod. It as touch and go for a while but were all hoping for the best. He faces a long fight to get over this one but he's recovered from 2 heart attacks and god knows what else when he was a soldier.

He told me to tell you he'll be back and could you let all your friends on answers know.

What is your excuse for mixing up the two Andy's then? That was a classic bout of "memory loss" and how insulting to the both of them.

You assume wrong, I was talking about the list only me drew up, listing bullies. Yawn. Why are you for getting involved without knowing the full story.If you look at Busys Q only me admits it was they that made the list.

I really must get up earlier in the morning in order to enable me to use the many ID's I have assembled. And to answer your question Katie, I don't think she is typical of the quality of care afforded in the NHS, she is just a sheep that follows the clique in order to appear popular.
And I did read those abhorrent posts aimed at Rosie over the past few days and like most other disgusted users I reported them.
I noticed Busy Bee distanced herself from the author of those posts once she realied he wasn't as well liked and hilarious as she had at first imagined. Rats and sinking ship come to mind

old pople are senile , we should put them down when they reach 65 but any that look unhealthy before that but after 50 need to be put in homes or an island because they smell and eat dry cake ,the freaks !
