Home coming parade for returning troops??? |
Should we have HCP for our troops? I really can't make a decision on this, yes they deserve respect, but if we were to have a parade for them then we should also honer other professions such as Police, Fire, Doctors/Nurses, Teachers and any other professions that benifit the Nation. michael b = coz despite what you think they are in a profession in which they risk their lives to help the general public. After six months in the desert the last thing the troops will want is a parade and all the bulls**t that goes with it. They should be afforded the best care, respect, and attention that this country can give. They deserve it. WHY SHOULD WE HONOUR THE POLICE HERE IN THE UK ..WE NEVER SEE THEM ON OUR STREETS LET ALONE ON THE FRONT LINE IN A WAR ZONE If those same people, left our country for two years at a time, were home for a few months, then took of again, enduring 170 degree weather , while being shot at or bombed on their days off, I say we should have a parade Oh come on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..the latter proffesions do a marvelous job but they are NOT like the forces! Its about time the boys and girls were recognised. They are not only away fighting but they leave their families behind for months on end, the others at least go home at night to their families. People should turn out for these HCP's and welcome them home from wars and terror! A "Land fit for Hero's"....I dont think so............. We really should. A lot of them most be suffering from serious depression by now. Anything to cheer them up. They shouldn't have to pay taxes anymore either. That would be sweet. And a car, and maybe some free effing tuition. If we can spend a trillion dollars fighting some pointless war in some dusty *** country, we can take care of our damn troops. I don't think a homecoming parade is necessary. Soldiers are coming and going all the time. It's not like we have just won or lost a war, like the street parties in 1945. We live in an army area, and they are organising something themselves, for their loved ones returning and I think that's fine. |
