Healthcare workers: Do you love or hate your job?

1. What is your profession?
2. Hate it love it?
3. Advantages/disadvantages?

I'd rather not go into the healthcare profession, but the employment market is always in need of them. What is your advice for someone with no interest in nursing etc. type of jobs but is a profession in the healthcare field that are needed?

First of all decide what it is that you do like.

I am a Financial Analyst.

I hate it and am completely bored- the thought of sitting behind a desk for the rest of my career is awful.

It pays the bills- but I am a people person, I like to help others and enjoy interaction with others.

When I first went to school the big push in my area was to go into Business, Finance or Accounting. I did and majored in Accounting and Business Admin. After 15 years, I need a change. I was not cut out to be a 'bean counter'.

Now I have been accepted into a Dental Hygiene program and will start in May. While it is a big undertaking, I enjoy the study of sciences and like to work with people.

If nursing is not for you check into becoming a Rad Tech, Physical Therapy Assistant, Respiratory Therapist, or even a Dental Hygienist.

Healthcare careers are not just limited to nursing anymore; but I will caution you, if you have no desire to go into a health field, or will not enjoy your choice- look elsewhere.

I chose the area where the market was and what I thought would be the best move; but it was not for me.

Good Luck with your choice.

Don't go into any health care profession if you have no interest in it. Seriously.

1) ER RN
2) Love it
3) Lots of stress. Get to save lives every day.

I totally love being a nurse. People can call me a nerd... it doesn't matter. I enjoy being able to help people, when they are sickest.

But you need to get into a field you love. If you don't it will just be hard for you and your patients.

You can go to become a PA or an MD you'll be able to find a job easy enough. Also right now there is a real shortage for Ultrasound and radiology techs. Many hospitals are offering large bonuses for them. It's a better option for people who don't like people as much.

not working now,but soon i'd be a pilot & i love myself 4 choosing such a great profession.
