Encouraging Labour- Please help?

I am now three day over my due date and I really don't know how much more I can take. That may sound awful, but the pains are getting too intense.
I was diagnose with having syactica in my back, which was due to my profession as a Nursery Nurse.

My contractions are 30 minutes to an hour apart, but its bringing my to tears. Please can anyone give me any help on how to move things forward?
Got to add, my baby hates the contractions and he is trying, but not succeeding.

Thank you for taking your time to read this. Please excuse any spelling mistakes as I am slightly dyslexic.

if you can handle it, try having sex and letting the sperm sit inside of you, it helps to dilate and eface. if that is just not an option, walk around or take a warm (not hot) bath to soothe yourself. good luck.

there is nothing you can really do to bring on full labour, it will happen when it happens. But there are things you can do to help it along.
Try having a warm bath, as deep as you can. Go for a walk, the walking motion can help baby move downwards, as can being on all fours - like you are crawling. You can take paracetamol for the pain.
If you think the baby is not happy, then go and see your midwife/doctor, who may decide to break your waters, induce you or whatever. It is not doing you any good being so upset and in pain, and it won't help your baby either. so get some professional help. Good luck, and just remember, you will have a beautiful baby at the end of it.

Try stimulating your nipples. I know it sounds crazy but it relly does work. Just play with them for 10-15 minutes a day. Apparently this can kick start labour. It worked for me. Good luck.

On the week leading up to the birth of my child I ate a tin of pineaplles in fresh juice for breakfast and a hot curry for dinner each evening. I'm not sure if they helped or did not make a difference but they were nice to eat anyway!!

My friend reccomended raspberry leaf tea but I did not try this in the last few weeks so do not know if it would have helped.

they say to keep on the move like walking around an swinging your hips it suppose to help the baby get in a better position an bring labour on but i have to say it didnt work for me :( i had contractions every 7 mins wen my labour started for 14hours pacing the floor so tired but never sat down an i still stayed 1cm :( i had to be induced in the end but give it a try it could work for u i no siatica is painfull but just try walling around the house the contractions might come quicker x

Sex helps but looks like you're not in the condition for that. Try walking around. A warm bath can help relief the pain. Besides that, there's nothing much that can be done. Good luck dear!

the only thing i found worked is going for a big walk
(take some panadol before you do due to back pain) then having sex but you do need to orgasm believe me i know how hard this is to achieve but it did work for me as i went into labour within a few hours but started getting mild contractions straight away.
good luck hope this works for you

You should be contacting the delivery unit. The won't leave you in pain like that.

If you could bear it, semen has the same hormone as the gel they use to induce labour in the hosp, could your partner possibly help!! Other than that eat a big spicy curry!

Try a lot of walking and take a warm bath.. It worked for me.. I started having contractions and i went to the hospital 2 1/2 hours later and was 6 cm dilated i kept walking around more and 2 hours later i had my beautiful daughter.. Good Luck
