How can I transform from being a " boring", bland person to an interesting, fun-loving, " with it" person?

I am a 40 year old african-american lady living in NYC. By profession, I am a nurse. I am considered attractive. The problem is a social one. I've always been a quiet, kept to myself, afraid i won't be accepted because of nothing interesting to say. Is there a way I could get "with it" and stay with the "in crowd"? How can I develop or transform my bland, boring personality into a colorful, interesting magnetic one? How can I attract people like a magnet? I feel like a wallflower alot of the times. I am so lonely and bored. How can I " fit in " and not feel "left out"? How can I revolutionize my personality?

Live the term- "Fake it till you make it"... Start by visualizing what you would like to be- and then start living it- it will feel odd at first, but as you continue to practice it- it will become natural. Before long- it will be who you truly are.
Before you became a nurse- you were not a nurse- you studied, practiced and were nervous- but with practice you got better and better until now you don't even think about it- YOU ARE A NURSE! Same principle! Good luck to you!!
GO OUT AND BECOME WHO YOU WANT TO BE!!!

Alcohol

lmao im with this guy, go out and get yourself a drink, you'll be more outgoing in no time

Actually being quiet is an advantage for real friendships. You can easially become a great conversationalist just by being (or seeming) interested in other people's stories.

Use your caring heart to be on the receiving end of other peoples' interests. Drink in the mystery of each person. It is ok to be vulnerable with a listening ear and sparkling eyes.

i think it got a lot to do with fear of rejection of your opinions.you have to remember that a 'fun' person is one who displays his/her emotions openly.if you are caging them, then you're heading for a disaster socially.maybe you always have interesting things to say but the way you express them makes them uninteresting?..people always listen to a person when he/she is loud and confident.

hope i helped

Well, you have to start liking yourself first in order to bring out the best in you! so start with you...feed yourself with knowledge, read, be active, be fit, travel when you can, try different types of foods, go check out some concerts, get into music, try a new sports, go see movies..keep up with what's going on in the world that will definitly get you to speak of things that others might be interested in. Try some new wines, go wine tasting..you live in NYC! girl there is so much culture there...go get a make over..look hip and really mesh with the culture..

if you have something to say to people when they start talking about a topic ..you can join in...

Keep your shoulders straight and walk with confidence, let your hair down..trust me people will notice you...don't be shy and try to open up...be confident of who you are and don't worry about other people's opinions...try to be friendly, keep a smile on your face, have smiling eyes..
