Should footballers be paid so much money when other skilled jobs get so little?

All these skilled professions like nurses and tecahers get rubbish money.. is it right?

I think it's absolute nonsense. They should be paid a normal wage like everyone else. Isn't it good enough that they get to do what they love for a living?

Footballers should try and live on 拢200 per week. That's what most people round here are on. It's disgusting that they can get 拢100,000 per week.

But most of all that is retarded is that some of the players cry about that there not getting paid enough...come on you spoiled piece of crap...i think 10 million is way enough and you want more...shows how spoiled and stupid you are. So you dont need to cry about your wages if your getting paid that much because tons of ppl dont even get a 3rd of that...and i agree they are doing something that they love and there getting paid tons

Footballers are actually paupers compared to other sports stars. Tiger woods once earned an annual gross income of about 75 million dollars, being the highes paid sportsmen in the world. In that same year, Michael Schumacher earned 72 million dollars while David Beckham earned 5 million dollars. So dont complain so much.

Nurses,Doctors,engineers...
They all are skilled.But the fact here is there are very few professional footballers.And playing foot ball is not so easy dude it is
equally skilled.And i think they all have a celebrity status andthey are
paid for playing the best and masterpiece football.

I know its unbelievable how much they get paid, and really all they do is kick a ball around a field. my friend is a firefighter and what he makes doesn't even come close to what idiots like Beckham and Rooney makes in a week!! and what happens when someone say's something about it?... nothing... good question!

I don't think its right at all... do they save anybodies life? No, in fact they cause violence... with all the hooliganism. Then if that's not enough they have the cheek to complain and ask for more money!! They all claim to do things for charity... when have you seen a footballer give to charity without all the publicity? never, they give to charity to make themselves look good, and probably never give to that charity again. i think its a farce!

Sad to say bud but all professional sports are the same its all about the greed of the players and owners of the teams look at the players in mlb Alex Rodriguez good example makes 16 million a year . And governments do nothing about it .Sadly this is how life is.

If there is money in the sport and the clubs can afford to pay them then yes. Although i think that they should bring in a salary cap withing the next few years to stabilise smaller teams.

And don't forget that players in the uk have to pay 40% of their wages to the government through income tax. So they do contribute something to the Uk. Just to make the Labour government that lil' richer.

Nurses, doctors and teachers are paid by the government, unless they work privately. Footballers are not. It is unfair to say that they are over-paid, as their wages do not come out of your taxes.
It is foolish to suggest that, just because these players may not be on the same intellectual level as a consultant surgeon, they should be paid less. They are entitled to demand whatever salary they like, and if someone is willing to pay it, then good luck to them.
Professional footballers nowadays are athletes, and whilst they may not have achieved academically, they have achieved physically, by training and developing a talent to a level which the vast majority of us could never attain. Whilst a professional footballer will never save someone's life on an operating table, neither will a barrister, or a financial director- yet we don't suggest that these professions should have a capped salary. They are entitled to charge whatever they wish for their services- no-one is forced to employ them; and the better they are at their job, the more money they can command. The same goes for footballers.

no, they shouldn't!yeah, they not like dcommon people because they have a talent, a "gift" but the club is responsable for that. they buy and sell players for an enormous amount of money and they pay enormous wages!this way, the footballer is more interested in money than in playing for the fans!is because of them they are famous!

It isn't fair they get so much, when people who risk their lives for others get so little compared to footballers, e.g police, firemen etc

I think it is unfair that if you earn 拢40,000 a year you get taxed at the same rate as David Beckham!
