Please can someone help me out?

PERCEPTIONS ON NURING UPON ENTERING INTO THE PROGRAM
Nursing is a profession that requires a special individual who has compassion and a gentle touch.

yes can you please enlighten me about the nursing profession please

I agree, but what's your question? Are you questioning whether or not you made the right decision to go into nursing? Or, do you want to know whether someone who is already a nurse can give their impression of the profession? Enlighten me please.

Is that an essay question?

Nursing is MORE THAN THIS that's for sure....and please, understand something...the text books make nursing look like this great, caring, fantastic job....IT'S NOT...it requires a lot of dedication....a lot of time and effort...and a lot of HARD WORK both mentally and physically...
Not only that you have a lot of office politics to play and a lot of personalities to deal with...ill or not!!!!!!!!!!!! It's never what the text book makes it out to be....the same thing goes with the clinical part of nursing...for example...you have a hypo or a hyper glycemic person...the text book will tell you the short and sweet version of this and how the patient will be....WRONG.....IT'S NEVER THAT WAY IN THE ACTUAL SETTING...
There is a lot of attitude in nursing...you've got all of the little girlie "clicks" to deal with....and there is a lot of frustration...there's also a lot of "passing the buck"...you have to stand your ground and not be taken advantage of...trust me on this...I've been dealing with all kinds of these things for 28 years...
Don't get me wrong...I love being a nurse...I'm just trying to let you know the REALITY OF IT....it's nothing pretty, believe that....it's hard, hard work...both on your mind, and on your body....
