Would it be possible to follow a nurse around one day to see if it would be a good career choice? |
I am interested in the nursing profession, but I am still unsure about it. I just think that it would be easier to follow someone and do research on the field, kind of like test driving the career. I love people. My whole family is in law enforcement. I am too, but I don't love it. I don't know anyone in any other field of work other than law enforcement and I want to branch out. You would have to speak with the nursing director of a hospital or clinic to find out the proper way to go about this. They do not let random people just go around with a nurse and see what they do because of confidentiality issues (Hippa) You wouldn't like it if a stranger was following a nurse and taking care of your mom. And frankly, in many areas, it's not practical to follow a nurse because it's too busy and you probably wouldn't understand most of what they are talking about. I think you may have to just apply to a nursing school and if accepted, you can decide if you like it or not, based on the classes, clinical etc... You can always change your major.. It is a good profession and you can work in many areas and go on to advance your degree later. I think that is an excellent idea. I became a nurse because all the women in my family were in the healthcare field. I am now regretting the fact that I became a nurse. My cup of tea is business. |
