Every profession I know gets gifts at Christmas , but Nurses are not allowed to receive anything, WHY???????? My X wife is a nurse and I still buy her something every year. That must be a decision by the hospital that you are at b/c my wife is a RN and the hospital buys them gift cards to target for Christmas I worked at two hospitals over five years and nurses were allowed to get presents at christmas...if you mean gifts from outside vendors and patients and etc. They had to be shared gifts though. For instance, if someone got some candy then it would be shared with the department. This is so the nurse's level care is the same for every patient. If they were able to accept gift's they might be persuaded to give one particular patient better care while ignoring others. Ive had patients give me a gifts before. Because Nurses are professionals and shouldn't expect/accept gifts? Are the Doctors allowed to accept gifts? |
