Why do a lot of people in the health care profession such as doctors and nurses suffer with? |
dependency problems and depression? Drugs? Alcohol? Eating disorders? I am in know way judging, I have a lot of respect for them. I am in nursing school myself. Everyday a persons survival is placed in their hands. Simply, when they screw up, it can cost someone their life. This is alot of stress to deal with. A higher prevelance of alcohol abuse and depression is a consequence of it. I don't know about dependency ..but definitely depression. The job is extremely stressful and can be filled with a lot of unfortunate cases. It's a job where we're trying to make people better, but often they are unwilling to help themselves. We also meet a lot of good people who are suffering and there is not much we can do. first ,they are people like everyone else |

Funny.. that same exact thing happened to me in my first year as a RN! I remember pacing the hallways (were BTW I could still smell the wound. that is how bad it was!) thinking "I made a mi... In addition to being a skilled team member, you also have to give care to the patient and their family. You have to advoc... i disagree with you, men does a lot of gossiping, telling lies and hatetalk . Its not what you think. ...Our local "uniform" store carries everything you could imagine to do with nursing... scrubs, watches, stethoscopes, blood pressure cuffs, scissors, belts, pen lights, etc... etc... etc...... You cannot obtain a nursing license with no clinical experience. It is very hands-on as you say. The legitimate nursing programs you see online only offer the textbook type, "normal" acad... |
