Which profession would you choose being a Nurse or a Physical Therapist, and Why?

Which profession would you choose being a Nurse or a Physical Therapist, and Why?

I chose PT...and I can become:
a clinical facilitator,
a manager,
a director of rehabilitation,
a case manager,
and I can own my own practice.

I can work:
in a hospital,
a private clinic,
in home health,
industrial rehab
sports rehab
schools
nursing homes
rehab centers, etc.

I can specialize in:
othopedics
sports med
neuro
pediatrics
women's health
lymphedema
geriatrics
aquatic therapy
and many more

But mainly I chose PT because I like to make the decisions about how best to treat the patient and I like to teach people things.

I do love nurses though...

Registered Nurse.

If you are a Physical Therapist that is what you are. Not much room for expansion and/or increased pay.

If you are a nurse you can go into any number of nursing specialties that pay up to $200,000 a year. Here are just a few.

OB GYN Nurse Practitioner
Nurse Midwife
Nurse Anesthetist
Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Geriatric Nurse Practitioner
Primary Care Nurse Practitioner
Operating Room Nurse
Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner
Mental Health Nurse
Public Health Nurse
School Nurse
Private Duty Nurse
Industrial Nurse
Infection Control Nurse
etc.
