Being a Nurse...is it still a noble profession? Sure is. I married to one. If you are considering it as a profession, look into the various types of nursing positions. There are probably 50+ different specialized ones and you can choose one you like. The well paid ones obviously have more responsibility... intensive care units, home care, and PAs for example. Go for it. yeah. guys mite get laffed at but 4 us women its all good Yes. They are overworked and unpaid. I have alot of respect for nurses. More than doctors. Yes, it certainly is. ALL JOBS ARE NOBLE AND PEOPLE ARE MORE SO. Actually, nurses get paid a lot. They are both overworked and overpaid. :P My mom's a nurse and she makes $100,000+ a year working 3 days a week. I think being a Nurse is a great profession if you like to help and care for people. more than ever yup..but all fields are noble for the fact that each tries to help the community and if put together as a whole, it's a great help to everybody..except for the illegal jobs. |

The future of nursing will be unbelieveable esp considering the next 10-20 years we are going to face massive shortages. I beleive that 3 things will result form this: 1) Larger role for nurses... i agree i've noticed a high percentage of overweight nurses i have several nurse friends and they are overweight and/or gay and some of the heaviest smokers and off duty drinkers i'... I chose PT...and I can become: a clinical facilitator, a manager, a director of rehabilitation, a case manager, and I can own my own practice. I can work: in a hospital, a private... Most people would say no. I happen to think, caring for kids is the hardest and most important job to do. They really are two separate things. Health care and child care just aren't the same. ... Nurses provide the link between the Doctor and the patient. They are the ones who insure that the medicine in the hospital setting is delivered, and charts are up to date. While yes it is true th... Ultrasound technicians & pharmacists are some of the highly paid medical professionals. It is because like nurses, there is a enormous shortage of these professionals. ...Everyday a persons survival is placed in their hands. Simply, when they screw up, it can cost someone their life.
