What's the better profession, being a nurse or a doctor?

i'm still confuse, i don't know if there's a need for me to pursue medicine knowing that being a nurse gives me a good living. thnks..

As an RN I deal with both professions daily. They both are high stress, hard work careers. Doctors typically spend much shorter periods of time and see more patients a day than a nurse. Doctors are in charge of deciding what is wrong with a patient (diagnosing) and outlining treatment. A nurse takes care of the patient. We see to all their needs, from medication, wound care and dressing, helping them with daily care they can't take care of themselves, like walking, bathing, eating, etc. And both careers demand a ton of paper work. You can get a RN in 2 -3 years, bachelors in nursing in 4. To be an MD you must have very good grades and your commitment is a 4 year undergrad degree in science or premed, a couple of years of med school, and an internship. Figure 8 years and $250,000 minimum. Most doctors I know start their day at 0700 and work till 1900 with on call times as well. Nurses in the hospital typically work 8 - 12 hour shifts. You can always find work as a nurse..or doctor. However, they did a survey (I think it was Popular Science) rating the worst jobs. Nurses were rated one of the 10 worst jobs and more nurses responded to the survey and rated their job worst than any other profession. But we just beat out computer technical support! If you really want a good idea, go to the area hospital s and work as a nurses' aide. It requires on the job training but you will see nurses and doctors in action. But it will give you great cognitive structure as you continue your education, meaning you will understand what the lectures are all about. Many nurses and quite a few doctors get broken into the professions this way. Good luck.

Of course Doctor-You have control over Nurse.

Either one is good. Actually it is what you're interested in not what others think.

for me, being a doctor is better. it is more challenging and more intellectually stimulating. doctor will also give you a good living but you need to invest on it first (i guess for the first 3 years?)

however, we know that today, nurses are more in demand in the market. i heard that nurses were paid really high.

these are just my opinion. of course, the final decision will still be yours. all depend on you :)

I think being nurse and marry a doctor...

Just joking girlfriend, well i like nurses more they are more sensitive affecting, warm directly contact with the patients...sweet warm sensitive helpful, basically the dream of every sensed man...
Doctors are sophisticated, educated, calm, maybe you can call them insensitive, decision makers, determined...

It depends om what is your characteristics...

I hope you ll be my nurse when i ll be suffering in the hospital...You will make my physical suffering, emotional delight...
?????

it depend on how much work you want to do....
