Why do nurses don't pursue their profession as a nurse?

I am a CNA and plan on pursuing my nursing profession. i would love to go to school for it right now but i have to wait two years on a waiting list for a place to open up to get my licennsed practical nursing, then wait another two years on a waiting list to go through more school to become a registered nurse. Thats like 4 years of waitting and 4 years of school, i won't be out for another 8 years thats kind of discourarging. Also there is a lot of stress. Nurses are told to deal with 10 patients by themselves, still follow all of the rules and guidleines, and then get blamed if any one thing goes wrong when there are supposed to be alot of other nurses there to help. you have to roll patients over or pick them up alot and many are heavy and it hurts your back. very stressful worrying about losing your job if a patient gets sick or dies under your care.. not to mention the family members always blame you if something progresses worse for a pateint

Who says they are not doing. There are professional nurses in every country.

being a nurse is a profession.

many are registered nurses, and some aren't. but it is a profession

Nurses have to put up with a lot of crap, including death. If they want to be something else it is because being a nurse is extrememly stressful.

Studies have found that nurses when asked, have as their life's goal, to marry a rich, successful man that looks like a doctor, walks like a doctor and sounds like a doctor. As a kid, I worked briefly in a hospital where the doctors had a bedroom where they could spend quality time with the nurses. Also, nursing is a profession in which they are mistreated by nasty doctors, and are exposed to contagious and fatal diseases.
