How much do Certified Nursing Assistants make in Indiana? |
I was thinking of taking classes to become a Certified Nursing Assistant and then take classes to bump up in the Nurse profession. I find I am really excellent with children. They love me. :) I like adults too and listening to their stories, but I could see myself more with kids. But, it doesn't matter I guess? It's either this I am considering or social work. i've known a lot of people who've had jobs as CNAs. they seem to get paid better if they work in a hospital. if they work in a nursing home it's usually only a little bit more than min. wage. it's a good way to work yourself up in the nursing profession. you have to start somewhere if you don't go to college first and get out that way without doing grunt work. My kid is a RN she made $18.50 hour her first job out of school. Im not a cn but a freind of mine was a CN and he made like 20k a year he also did physical therapy now he is a firefighter. And does physical therapy on the side and makes 60k a year. I think CnR make 30k. Im just answering to give you a round about and know one else has answered yet. I live in Indianapolis. CNA is an entry level job and will not pay much more than 16-20K in most cases. You really need to pursue and RN to make a decent living as a nurse. As for social work you will need at least a BSW (so you are looking at significantly more education than nursing which you can do without a BA (though a BSN is increasingly encouraged. DA |
