What profession would you go into teaching or nursing?

teaching elementary or sonoagraphy

I think both are great and your choice should depend on your lifestyle. Of course you have to take into consideration the pay, but don't forget about the hours. If you have kids/wife (or are planning to have them) think about the benefit of being a teacher. You will have this time off with them. As far as the nursing, I personally think sonography is a great choice. This was actually what I wanted to do as a profession. My plans where sidetracked because of my son. You could still have a family and do nursing, so I guess the point is just keep in mind other factors besides the obvious one of money.

Teaching, I love working with kids.

They both offer their own rewards. Teaching will have more stable hours, plus a great summer vacation. Nursing has better (but less stable) hours and better pay. They both allow you to help people.

Sonography is not exactly nursing, it's a totally different job. But I would choose that over teaching.

Nursing. The demand for nurses is extremely high, it's a career field that is constantly evolving with advancements in medicine, it's a profession that will allow you to work pretty much anywhere in the U.S. or world, and it pays a hell of a lot better. Besides, today's school children have no respect for their teachers.

Teaching and nursing both involve helping people, but nursing definitely pays more.

nursing

Me personally ... teaching, but everyone is different.

Depends on the person and the type of "helping" you want to do. Teachers need a lot of patience in a different way than nurses do. However, nurses have to deal with some very tough issues day to day, different from the issues you deal with as a teacher.

And not to be flippant, but June, July, August, Christmas, and spring break are some pretty good reasons to be a teacher ....

Both are excellent choices for a career.

Nursing pays better though.

Nursing!! This field is growing and there is always a need for nurses. Middle school or high school teachers are in high demand. However, elementary school teachers are in lower demand. Either way you will others!

nursing you cant touch the students but u can touch the patients
