Would you consider Nursing to actually be a Profession? if so, why?

Would you consider Nursing to actually be a Profession? if so, why?

Absolutely, it is a profession. It requires a college degree, a state license, has standards of practice and is subject to oversight by a State Board of Nursing. A nurse is also required (varies state by state) to work on continuing education to keep current on technology and advances in practice.

And of course, there is the sheer scope of what nurses do. We have people's lives in our hands. I think that deserves the title "professional". We certainly aren't "amateurs"!

Nurses are highly skilled job. What do you mean is it consider as a profession? Of course, it is a profession. There are a lot of schooling involve.

Why on earth wouldn't it be a profession? Of course it is, the same as any other.

Of course it is. As mentioned its a highly skilled job, well paid and in high demand. You can move ANY where and be able to find a job as a nurse. I am a medical technologist (vampire) in a hospital and while it doesnt pay as well as a nurse, the hourly salary is quite high.
