What are some hot debate topics in the profession of nursing? |
I am in a class where I am writing a review on a hot topic within the field of nursing. Where I live, the hot topic is how to educate the next generation of nurses. Who will pay the experienced nurses to leave their jobs & go to the classroom? Who will fund clinical training centers? Who will allow themselves to be treated by student nurses? Whether to be in a nursing home or have in-home care. Patient confidentiality and/or patient rights is always a good one. Also, taking care of HIV patients. RN vs LPNs, Associates degrees vs. Bachelors. I have been a nurse for over 15 years and would be happy to chat on yahoo messenger with you if you like. I am not certain exactly what you are asking. Also, consider how nurses are treated by physicians in hospitals...I was on the floor one day when I saw a physician take his shoe off and throw it at a nurse!! I mean he literally HIT her with his shoe. I walked over to her and told her she was more of a woman than me because his *** would be slapped with an assault charge if it were me, nevermind the fact that that shoe would have went right on out the window and he could have walked his ignorant *** around the hospital with one shoe on!! We work for the hospital, not for the doctors, they are basically our coworkers and though our job may be to "take" their orders it is NOT in my job description to take their crap!! I have several stories like that if you are interested. |
