Nursing as a contemporary profession?

For my essay I have to discuss nursing as a contemporary profession. Please help me out with some ideas of what I can discuss. Thankyou

1/ the changing educational levels/requirements of nursing now vs. the past.
2/ the changing levels of technology
3/ the different structure of nursing....expanding home health care vs. traditional hospital settings
4/ the change in monetary and non monetary (paid continuing education, travel, moving expenses) from the past to now
5/ the changing demographics of patient load (ie. increase in cultural minorities and the special needs/problems that they may have)
6/ the expanding of international sharing of training and education
7/ VERY IMPORTANT topic...the current debate/anger at industrialized countries hiring trained nurses from less developed countries leaving a dramatic shortfall of nursing staff in countries like Philippines and South Africa combined with nurses not really trained up to speed or with good language skills working in UK and others
8/ the changing demands of nurses for respectful treatment by administrators as well as for less overtime (or, in other words, their demand that hospitals hire sufficient nurses to handle their census)

there are several other issues, but researched properly, those are sufficient topics for a 25 page, single spaced, paper.

HEHE....LOVE YOUR AVATAR BY THE WAY....MEOW!
