What is the uses of algebra in nursing profession? Determing what quantities are needed when mixing medicine, determining how far to stick the thermometer, etc etc. Medication calculations, primarily. you have to be able to figure out a ptsweight in kilograms, and then from that figure out how much of a dosage to give.. alot of the medications go by the persons weight.. you dont want to give a 78lb person the same dose you give a 200 lb person.. it is also used to figure out the drip rate for ivs.. if you need to infuse 500cc's over an hour and you have 60 drop tubing, how many drops would you need per minute.. it is used for more than that, but that is a some of it.... calculating volume, weight and blah about medicines.. Calculating the number of heartbeats per minute given the number of heartbeats per 10 seconds. Define use |
