For recruiters and former recruiters "medical issues"?

I have a friend who signed up to be a nurse in the army under a direct commissioning program. She is near graduation and a few months ago she had two seizures in the span of a week. She has been prescribed medication, she is not allowed to drive, and she still has to undergo further testing. Does this disqualify her from getting in to the Army?

If her seizures are either grand mal or petit mal (epilepsy), then she is disqualified from serving. The source below is the citation from the medical standards covering her condition from the medical standards.

Almost a certain dis-qual. A waiver may be tried, but I have grave doubts that it'd be accepted.

most likely yes. if she has not yet informed her Recruiter, she needs to do so NOW. her status has changed and by not telling them she would be committing Fraud if she were to commission as things stand now.

im going to go with a 98% that the condition is going to disqualify her just due to the fact that she has seizures and not to mention that she has to take meds.. the way that the military looks at it is that if she is more of a potential hazard then they cant put other soldiers at risk and let her join, not to mention it would be a hell of a time trying to get meds while youre in the box.. depending on what the situation is she might be able to get a waiver but i would say you should have her talk to her recruiter asap and let him/her know whats going on

Normally seizures within the last seven years are disqualifying.
