Do you believe in God?

I do, and my faith grew past any strength in my life when my son was about 14 months. When he was 3 weeks old he was hospitalized with IS (infantile spasms) which is a form of epilepsy. They never found a cause for it, even after a week of testing and doing all tests they had. Even a spinal tap gave no indication. I did my own research and was devastated and in tears after I found out that 80% of babies born with this have mental disabilities by the time they are 1, and that another 10% have developmental problems. Only 10% outgrow this completely and are normal. I found out that nursing helps babies overcome problems like these somewhat. I was also praying my heart out, and my entire family and all of my friends were praying for him. When he was 9 months old, he was discharged from the "Zero to Three" program which is for children with these problems. They said that he no longer needed their help because he was doing better than children they've had with this.

About a month later he had an appointment at the Children's Hospital Neurology clinic. They did the EEG on him, and it came back normal, alhumdolillah! A few weeks later we got the results of his genetics appointment as well, and those results were also normal. He was one of the 10% who had outgrown it and was even advanced for his age, and still is. This is one reason my faith is so strong. God worked through my son to prove that miracles can happen. What is your story?

This one celebrates your joy at the health of our child. May such always be the case, insha'Allah (as this one knows you would say and correctly so according to your beliefs.)

This one is always trying to see if he has such a faith in a supreme being. Some experiences might point towards such while others do not. In such matters, one must discern carefully the reality of each experience so as to ascertain, as much as possible, if such is truly ones own experience and not just the wishful thinking of one subjective veiw. Perhaps this one seeks too much and perhaps faith (i.e., the ability to believe wihtout doubt or questions, etc.) is, in itself proof of the existance of God (whether that God be addressed as YHWH, Trinity, Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit or Allah Subhanna wa Ta'ala). One has much to consider.
This one reads the Torah, Psalms and prophetic writtings, the accepted and agnostic gospels of the New Testament and the Holy Qur'an in an attempt to better understand that which this one may believe.
This one also reads the works of science, both ancient and modern, the works of the philosophers and other persons of letters and the works of those who are the leaders of various life philosophies (such as His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Thich Nhat Hanh and other scholarly works by past masters).

This one reflect a great deal, seeking his own path to the top of the mountain.

Perhaps, one day, all will meet at that mountain top in peace and harmony finding that each correct for him or herself, including those who hold to no faith or particular philosophy.

May it all be well with you.
If there is a God, may He, in His Mercy and Compassion, speak to the heart of each one granting peace and love and the gift of faith to all. This one would ask you to pray to Allah Subhanna wa Ta'ala for this.

As salaamu 'alaikym warahmatullahi wabaraktu, my friend.

Of course I do.

Yes I believe in Jesus

Congratulations on being one of the lucky 10%!

Yes I do believe in God, the one who sent His son [[ Jesus Christ ]] to earth just to die for my sins. the ultimate sacrifice and the epitomy of love!
